We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Consultant to join our growing team at Stonehaven.

Our Senior Consultants manage the day-to-day delivery of client work across multiple accounts and are expected to develop close relationships with clients, regularly taking part in client facing meetings and ensuring high quality client output.

This is an important role in supporting junior colleagues, helping to mentor and develop talent within the team.

Our policy team works hand in glove with businesses across the UK, helping them develop strategies to affect policy change in line with their corporate objectives. Based on in-depth research, insight and analysis we use the best available evidence to recommend the right course of action.

Developing policy for our clients at Stonehaven requires an agile mind. Our team is at the forefront of policy development, working across a range of issues – from the regulation of social media, the future of aviation or how best to achieve Net Zero.

Candidates looking to join the policy team have worked in academia, in the Civil Service, in a think tank, or worked as a subject matter expert in an NGO or the private sector. We are looking for a bright and passionate media relations consultant with 3-4 years’ experience to join our growing team at Stonehaven.

Our consultants manage the day-to-day delivery of work across 3-4 accounts and are expected to develop close relationships with clients, regularly taking part in client facing meetings and ensuring high quality client output.

Essential

  1. 3-4 years’ experience working in a media relations consultancy, journalism or inhouse press office role
  2. Excellent copywriting skills to build persuasive and powerful arguments across long and short-form content
  3. Proven media relations experience, with a track record of landing impactful coverage in national and trade publications
  4. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  5. Excellent verbal communication – ability to pitch stories to journalists, manage sell-ins and persuade
  6. Good network of media contacts and ability to build and grow this across different sectors and issues
  7. Ability to spot a story and pick out the strongest media opportunities
  8. Experience running a press office function – keeping updated media lists, producing media monitoring, responding to enquiries, producing message bibles
  9. Demonstrable experience working across owned and paid digital platforms during campaigns

  2. Experience with implementing programmatic display and video campaigns
  3. Solid understanding of data segmentation and matching capabilities essential
  4. Understanding of the technical aspects of online including ad serving/delivery, TV convergence and cross platform advertising format innovation.
  5. Highly analytical, with the ability to evaluate data on monitoring platforms, such as Google Analytics and Matomo, and optimise digital performance accordingly
